This is an interpretation of the great Italian 15th century painter Paolo Veronese’s masterpiece “NOZZE DI CANA”. Veronese’s original painting is a sublime and massive canvas (6.77 m × 9.94 m – 267″ × 391″) that was painted in 1563 during the Renaissance.
The French, under the command of the young Napoleon Bonaparte, tore the artwork from the wall of the monastery of San Giorgio Maggiore in 1797 as part of their plunder of Venice.
The painting is now housed in the Louvre Museum where it keeps company in the same grand exhibition hall as the Mona Lisa.
